Do you have heavenly bodies at 1 degree in your chart? Almost as soon as 2012 begins there is a rare line-up at that degree.
On the 24th January 2012 at 11.20am Greenwich Mean Time, there will be a conjunction between Uranus at 01 Aries 29 and Ceres at 01 Aries 29 (pictured).
Uranus is the planet which describes revolution. Ceres is the dwarf planet which describes loss and compromise.
This pattern ties into something larger, too – because on January 24th you will also see this:
Panacea at 1 Aquarius 37
Jupiter at 1 Taurus 50
On a world events level, this is a clear warning to astrologers, whose role it has always been to pass on omens and signs.
That Uranus-Ceres conjunction in Aries shows a fierce pattern, on a global level, which talks about the following –
A revolution in military matters (Uranus in Aries)
Loss and compromise in military matters (Ceres in Aries)
Solutions with ethical price tags regarding groups/collectives (Panacea in Aquarius)
The expansion/inflation of money (Jupiter in Taurus)
Uranus is worth a closer look. Discovered on March 13 1781 he chimed with these events –
The Siege of Yorktown, the battle that won the American Revolution.
In France, the publication of Compte Rendu au Roi, the first ever public record of royal finances (and the document that led to the storming of the Bastille and the French Revolution).
How is the dwarf planet Ceres (now equal to Pluto in the eyes of astronomers) going to manifest as she stands next to Uranus in January?
She is a potent symbol of ownership, entitlement and passion. In Roman mythology, Ceres wholly controlled her daughter’s life. Until the day that Pluto took her daughter away from her. After a period of grief and rage, Ceres was given her daughter back – for half the time.
If you don’t know where Ceres is in your chart you can find out at www.astro.com. By sign and house she will tell you where you feel a sense of ownership, control and passion (for someone or something dear to you). But also where you must learn to compromise and share, in a regular, rhythmic way.
Ceres was found in 1801, the year that Haydn released his epic work, The Seasons.
In the Roman myth, Ceres actually gave us the seasons too – Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. When her daughter Prosperpina is with Pluto, her new husband, we experience Autumn and Winter. Ceres mourns. When her daughter returns to her, she is elated – we have Spring and Summer.
Haydn’s work The Seasons, created in the year of Ceres’ discovery, also tells us something about January 24th, 2012. Could this be a new development with the Arab Spring? The synchronicity would be remarkable, but then astrology runs on synchronicity!
In your own chart and life, if you have heavenly bodies at 1 degree, then what happens near January 24th will be life-changing. A crossroads. You may see Uranus, the God of revolution, and Ceres, the Goddess of the seasons, both have a very direct impact on your world.
The transits often manifest as real people. So perhaps we are seeing, on the world stage, and maybe in your own life, people who are revolutionary, fiercely independent, passionate and possessive. The Aries emphasis lends aggression, speed, energy. It also suggests that the issue is one of competition, attack, defence. It’s a potent conjunction. Life will accelerate near January 24th. The emotional stakes will increase.
Countries with heavenly bodies at 1 degree of the cardinals (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) will register this most.
The Scotland chart shows Chiron at 1 Aries 48. The data is March 16th 0842 at 4.21pm in Edinburgh (The Book of World Horoscopes, Nicholas Campion, The Wessex Astrologer 1999).
The end of January will bring a Braveheart moment for Scotland. Chiron describes her audacity, her chutzpah and her punk rock spirit. Chiron was a maverick. That conjunction between transiting Uranus and Ceres, on Scotland’s natal Chiron is historic.
It’s also significant because Scotland’s natal Sun is at 00 Aries 00.
This is a speculative chart by Nicholas Campion, but what happens to Scotland near January 24th will be a good test.
Nations with heavenly bodies at the sensitive 1 Aries point include Egypt and Palestine (both in their independence incarnations). Egypt has Venus at 1 Aries and Palestine, more dangerously, has Mars at 1 Aries. Based on the data in The Book of World Horoscopes by Nicholas Campion it should be possible to make a timely astrological warning:
Very close to January 24th, there are powder-keg conditions among large sections of the population in Egypt and Palestine, set off by Uranus (revolution) and Ceres (ownership) and ignited by the fact that the transits are in Aries.
Because other issues are set off at the same time – the economy (Jupiter in Taurus) and group/collective behaviour (Panacea in Aquarius) that final week of January is potent.
It helps to remember that Ceres is ultimately about the seasons though. There is a season for ownership, a season for loss, a season for withdrawal and a season for restoration. Jessica Adams.
